October is Make A Will Month

We’re very excited to be involved in the Norwich and Norfolk Hospitals Charity inaugural Make A Will Month initiative this month.

Throughout October, we will write your will for free, in return for making a donation to the charity.

This is the first time the N&N Hospitals Charity, which supports the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has taken part in Make A Will Month.

Their Head of Fundraising, Louse Cook, explains why they were keen to launch the campaign:

“Not only does Make A Will Month highlight the importance of having an up-to-date will, it also raises awareness of our charity and how a gift left to us, however large or small, can make a huge difference to the work we do caring for the people of Norfolk.”

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has served to highlight just how important it is to supporters that they are able to recognise their ‘loved in life charity’ and ‘loved at end of life charity’.

Those who leave a gift to the N&N Hospitals Charity in their will can nominate a specific department or area of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital including Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital or Cromer & District Hospital to benefit. These important donations can be used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment or enhancing an environment. Louise continues:

“A huge amount of our income comes from legacies. Just last year, we received more than £1m in a legacy from the late Douglas De Bootman which will help pay for a cancer care centre at Cromer Hospital.”

We’ve been supporting the N&N Hospitals Charity for a number of years now through our sister company, Face to Face Finance. We think this initiative is a great way to help people tick a big thing off their “to do” list by getting their will in order, whilst also supporting a really worthwhile, local cause.

So, for all will appointments book in October, we will waive our usual fee of £75 for a basic will for a single person or £150 for a couple and ask you to donate that amount to the charity instead. We’re really looking forward to meeting lots of fellow supporters!
